When the SPR group visited in May 2016, it was the first time to hear a performance by the band of 8 - 10 youths. At that time there were no females in the band. When the next SPR group returned in February 2017, there were 4 females among the now 18-member band. Not only were we pleased to see female musicians within the band, we were astonished by the level of musicianship growth that occurred within nine months from the previous SPR group visit.

In 2016, SPR parishioners also exhibited such "big hearts" by donating musical instruments. Over the years, gently used trombones, flutes, clarinets, alto saxophones, trumpets, recorders, baritone horns and many music instruction books for various instruments have been delivered during SPR group trips to the St. Patrick's Band. In thjis photo, the band practicing or the Sunday March 2021 service to honor St. Patrick, their church's namesake.
